Bought a Bike for $150, Replaced Parts, and Still Made $100!
Much to my pleasure, I recently purchased a Giant Cadex 980c Bicycle for $150. The wheelset was much more than I needed so I sold the pair for $350 on ebay. Yesterday, I replaced the freewheel, handlebar tape, tires, tubes, and chain. The replaced parts cost me slightly more $100 (I work at a bike shop so I get parts at cost). I used wheels that I had left after selling a frame (I bought the bike for $50 and sold the frame for $80). When it was all said and done, I have a very nice vintage carbon fiber bike and $100 to spare. I took it for a short ride yesterday, and it was great!
