Galibier95 is at it again

For those of you interested. Or, you may have already seen this. Start with this interesting aluminum frame and enter his store to explore what must be one of the most mind blowing collections of French parts anywhere.

Agreed, his stuff is great. I keep him bookmarked and check regularly. I've bought from him and his items are always as described. It's also wonderful to see his items so nicely photographed. A pro.

Bike parts porn at its best. I wish I could justify the money for which his fender tail lights sell. My chrome bike needs one in a bad way.

I'm going to be busy updating photos in about 3 days. He's always got great photos and at least a reasonable amount of information for the part's he selling.

Super interesting frame. I'd almost buy it just to look at the things for a bit.

I'm guessing there are tons of bike shops throughout france with back rooms and basements full of boxes of NOS goodness.

If only the airlines would be more accommodating for bringing boxes of stuff (or complete bike boxes) on board! I have a friend who lives in Grenoble (and who is also an avid cyclist), and he said that no one in France wants anything to do with an old bike... he sees old 650B randonneuses and porteurs in ridable condition at flea markets for 50 euros, and no one buys them.

Let's do this! One of us goes to France and spends a few weeks buying bike parts until a crate like the one below is full!

I'd do it but the prospect of spending that much time in France is not appealing to me.

Maybe hunting for bikes would make it more tolerable

whats it cost to ship a crate from Calais to Port Elizabeth, NJ?

Cool stuff. There's also a lot of bidding going on, even on the pricey stuff.

I can see Galibier and posse grinding up Ventoux on their new CF Look bikes, while smirking at all the American and Japanese collectors paying top Dollar for their bric-a-brac. 'Je n'est sais quoi..' 'C'est bizarre!'

I wonder if a lot of it isn't, an old guy ran the local small town bike shop, people now order everything through the big UK online retailers, young guy isn't willing to run grandpa's shop, so when grandpa retires it all gets sold off and Galibier95 is there with a truck and some cash.

Man, now those are nice, kinda surprised they are French though, that design looks more like something you would see from a German company, notice how the holes in the rings lines up, that's perfect and it looks like it's drilled.

I had that crank on my 1979 Peugeot PXN-10LE that was stolen from me. I thought it was pretty but a bit too blingy/ostentatious.

A trip to France to collect old bike stuff sounds like a great idea. I wish I could do it. Hearing that the French don't like old bikes is amazing to me. Those old bikes were excellent.

I took a three month tour in 1981 and was in France for a month. Old women rode single speed freewheel bikes geared super-high, for some reason.

Either that, or that guy has been scouring and hunting and collecting for years. MAN...the PILES of NOS Mafac. The lights! The saddles!!! oh .....I could get in real trouble at that fellow's store. I'd love to hear his story of where all that came from.

Wow! $49 for an opening bid on a Milremo stem!?! I have two of these in my basement at the moment. One on my '39 New World and another on the '68 Raleigh Record I'm restoring for a friend. I had no idea.

That's a lot for a stem, but he knows how sentimental we North Americans and Japanese are with this stuff, even if the French aren't. He's no dummy.
