"orphans" list: a ISO database/sticky?
A guy in the CR list has generously offered to be a clearinghouse of "orphaned" singles in search of a mate. I don't mean a dating service, this is for folks who have a LH pedal and need a RH, or a RH crank and need the matching LH...in other words any thing that came as a pair but is reduced to unusable singlehood.
How about the same thing here for us in the (much larger) C&V Forum?
I'm already in touch with a guy who might take my RH Stronglight 49D arm and provide me with a Mavic Starfish LH crankarm (something I have been seeking for the past 4 years with no luck)...so it has potential, IMHO.

Items I'm looking for to match my orphans:
--a LH Stronglight mod. 93 (170mm) crank arm
--a LH Stronglight 170mm arm for a 3-pin crankset
Items I'd be glad to send off to meet their mates:
Crank arms:
--a Nervar Star LH crank arm (170mm, English thread)
--a Shimano 105 Hollowtech drive-side arm (FC6501), 170mm
--a Shimano RX100 (FC-A550) drive-side arm, square taper and 170mm; unfortunately, this one has a pedal spindle attached as I've not been able to remove it.
Brakes:
--Shimano Exage recessed rear
--Weinmann 590SQ recessed front
Pedals:
--no name quill pedal, right side, French thread, alloy cage and steel body
Shifters:
--SunTour LD-2800 left-hand/front-derailleur thumbshifter
I can take pics of any of these items if needed.

This would be another sticky?
Okay, I have a LH campy record pedal with strap loop. I want a RH... or I could give it up to someone that has the right and needs the left. We'd have to see who wants a set more.

Well that's not something I can decide, I guess it's up to the mods, right? But I'd appreciate something that maybe had simple columns of
1. orphans you want to keep and are ISO a match, as well as
2. orphans you would give up to a new home to give somebody a pair...in exchange for something, perhaps.
This could include forks needing frames, wheels needing a match, single shift levers, single brake levers, crank arms, pedals, cable clips, calipers...I'm sure there's more than I can think of right off the top...just a more specific "Orphans" category than the existing ISO/WTB, Trade sticky we have, which includes everything.
And of course PICS would be nice.

I have a Sugino 144 BCD right-side Campy lookalike crankarm that I can't identify, doesn't say "Sugino" anywhere, but it's got the S shield with thrre-prong crown logo on backside, along with A-7 (model?), 170 (length) and a 2 and a 5 in circles. I'd either like to find the left-side or get it to someone who needs mine to complete.
I also have two orphaned Simplex retrofriction right-side braze-on type shift levers, that need left-side mates.
I guess I'm basically left-side lacking.
Then there's the old Weinmann 750 caliper I got with my venerable Falcon frame -- it's seeking an equally scruffy 610 mate.

Looks like this will stay just a thread for the time being, so...My Turn:
I have and would like the mate for:
1. RH Mavic Starfish crank, 172.5 with rings, very scratchy (want LH arm in similar or better condition)
2. gone, thanks to cyclotoine:
1. RH Stronglight 49D arm, 170mm (fits TA chainrings) this is the early model with just the word "depose" in the stamping, good condition, some rubbing on backside, French pedal threads. (pics show it with a TA adapter, not included but available separately)
2. Ofmega "Master" small flange front hub, 36º, NOS with skewer. hourglass shaped with oil clip
Pics are in this photobucket album:
https://s55.photobucket.com/albums/g1...rphan%20parts/
*I will update this list and update the photo album as I uncover more orphans*

I need a single threaded end cap for a KKT Pro Vic II pedal. The better shape, the better.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I have an early C-record drive-side crank arm engraved Ugo de Rosa, and a left-side arm that is not engraved. The date stamps do not match.
I'd be intrested in matching either to form a complete set to use.
I assume the owner of the DeRosa had a fatigue failure on his original left crank arm, and replaced it with a plain and newer arm. But then when a better upgrade became available (early days of indexing) upgraded the whole crankset.

I have a Suntour Superbe Pro front derailleaur that's in search of a seat tube band clamp to make it whole again. The same band clamp was used on certain Cyclone MkII front derailleaurs too, and can be donors. So, if there's a Suntour band clamp orphan in need of a parent, let me know.
And I wouldn't mind having a 70s era Simplex rear quick release with straight lever. It came originally with the Normandy hub in my avatar pic. Somehow I lost it.

For now I think this thread is going to have to try to stay at the top by it's own accord, or we could consider integrating it with the ISO thread that already exists.

My one big wish is to find a mate for my NOS Zeus drive-side crank, the one that looks like a campy NR copy (Criterium?). The stickler here is that it is a 172.5, not that common in any regards!

I have a bunch of orphaned cranks. In a short search I came up with
three (3) light had first generation Dura Ace cranks, all 170. In that
you only see one side of the bike at a time I am inclined to just get
the new non-drive ones you see on Ebay.

I don't know if this counts as an orphan, but I have a zeus 2000 brake caliper with a broken cable
anchor bolt. I guess that means I could use a zeus 2000 brake caliper.
