My First Post

So i have been "stalking" this forum for some time, but have never posted a thread. But i finally got a few nice pics of my bike. So i thought i would share with you all. It has a mix of components(mostly shimano). With my limited mechanical knowledge this bike is was set up with the help of my friend and another forum member.

Very nice bike! What were some of the repairs/changes that you made? I like the color scheme.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of us were lurkers and have now reaped the benefits of being able to really participate.

You will find lots of experts here. Don't ever hesitate to ask about anything, no matter how esoteric, you'll get a response.

Your bike looks very nice. I don't own a Panasonic, but one of my Schwinns is a Panasonic make so I know that they could put out a very nice product.

Anyways, welcome.

I bet your mechanic sucks...

I found a picture in my stash that has an eerily similar Panasonic in it. It belonged to a strange guy with a beard.

A few winters ago I was visiting a friend in San Francisco and went for a mountain bike ride across the bridge in the Headlands. Amazing ride and tons of fun...but it was my first time riding clipless and before I got there I stacked it in the Presidio. Felt (and surely looked) really dumb because the bike I was borrowing was worth north of $4K. Funny I haven't thought about that in a while, can't even imagine riding without them now.

Panasonic still makes some cool bikes for other markets (than the US). Check out the B-OSD2:

Assume they're still producing these?

Another Panasonic fan here. Right now, I have quite a few "Schwinn-asonics", Panasonic built Schwinns. I've had "real" Panasonics as well in the past, but every Panasonic I have right now is rebranded.

My plan right now is to end up with two Schwinn-asonics as my daily riders, a 1987 Prologue, and a 1992 Paramount Series V. I'll probably retrofit 9 speed Dura Ace onto the Prologue, and put a 9 speed Ultegra mix on the Paramount.

I've got to prioritize a couple of personal projects.

Thanks Picchio S.Yes, as the posts on your cited site claim, there are some nice steel tourers that show up here — some of them at my own LBS. Don't specifically know about the B-OSD2 though.
