Benotto info
Well, don't ever say that the Italians don't know a sucker when they see one. The guy I bought that Bianchi off (see other post) just emailed me with pics of a Benotto that he had laying around. I know nothing about Benottos, other than that they moved the factory to Mexico some time ago. This one's old, and in Italy, so I'm assuming it was made here.
Anyone any thoughts on these? Or a bit of history? From what I can see, it needs a clean (and according to the missus, a wicker basket) and it'll be pretty much the same as one of those Pashley bikes ... without the massive price tag.

it looks neat I believe the rod brakes date it to '40 or 50s.

Benotto - a very well respected Italian bike manufacturer with a proud racing history. From the photos the bike looks very original.

That is a very nice Benotto. I have a similar picture that was the 30th anniversary bike (1961). I would love a close up of the top of the bell, the headtube and seat tube decals if the seller would not mind. ETyler@Benotto.com. T also want to save them all (or recreate them)

Cheers for the responses, Guys.
BG, thanks for that, I was pretty certain that the rod brakes went the way of the dodo after the 50s, which would mean it was an Italian rather than Mexican frame, right?
He's given no indication of what he might want for it, so not sure if the deal's a goer. Someone found it in a garage apparently. Think I meet him later this week. With a bit o'love it'd look really nice.
