C&V Brake Lever Clamp size/handlebar size

Just curious, and I can't seem to dig up the right data on the interwebz -
Has the standard bar diameter for drop bars changed since the 60's/70's/80's? I'm looking at the possibility of getting some vintage brake levers (such as the Mafac Competition or campy SR) to install on a new bar with a 23.8mm diameter (not center clamp, which is 26.0)

I no longer own any of my old drop bars/bikes so can't just run out to the garage and check.

23.8mm is the standard size for drop bars. Some older bars and most upright bars (and mtb bars, I believe) are 22.2mm. I have no idea what contemporary bars measure.

The really old standard was 7/8" (=22.2), replaced by 1950 or so, for drop bars only, by 15/16" (23.8 mm). 7/8" is still used for upright bars, and was still used for steel drop bars especially on cheap bikes in the 80's or later.
