i took your advice! (white saddle & purple bianchi)
and i have a picture!
let me tell you, there are not a lot of choices for women's saddles... lol ... just stating the obvious! but i was persistent, and i found this fizik saddle for less than 1/2 price, and it's new..... and i have to admit, the more i thought about this color combination, the more i liked it.
i have a small (but growing) pile of parts, that are waiting until i am brave enough to teach myself new things, and put them on my bike!
vintage campy aero levers (with new white hoods)
cinelli white handlebar tape
celeste brake cables
i will continue to post pictures of my progress....

I love it! Get that handlebar tape on there (which of course means you'll have to do the cables too ) and get us a drive side shot. That's gonna be such a great looking bike!

Looking great. Personally , I'd go with all white everything (tape/housing/saddle) but I'm sure it'll pop.
BTW the hoods you got aren't these model by chance ?

Before we get to that point, use black tires for your next set.
Good choice on the saddle.

3SPEED & LesterOfPuppets & WNG- THANKS!!! as soon as i put this saddle on, i knew i made the right decision.....it looks so pretty.... .....
and now that the "easy" work is done (lol).... time to get started on the scary stuff.... i am sure that my attempt at figuring this out would be pretty entertaining.... lucky for me, no one gets to see that part! they will just see my effortless success!! lol
maybe i can get it done this weekend (since i have a lot of time to myself these days).....
sauze -- actually, those DO look like the hoods that i have.... which do appear a little different than the hoods that i will be taking off these levers....... do you think these new ones are wrong???
zonatandem -- cycling shorts... wow... one step at a time for me!
oh, and whoever mentioned white brake cables.... i just couldn't resist doing SOMETHING in celeste on this bike.... brake cables looked pretty interesting, we will see how it goes!

oh believe me, i HATE the purple tires more than anything (as discussed many times in my other post, lol)..... i am trying to resist buying new tires immediately... since these tires are almost new.... it would be a waste to not use them at all. but yes, i hate them. lol. i will probably buy continental gatorskins, in BLACK!

I think you better post some pics of your levers and the new hoods. if that.. it is a '86 Sport SX yes? still has the DiaCompe brake levers there is no way Campi hoods will fit.
for tires I would use something with a tan skinwall to go with the lighter theme of the white saddle and white(?) bar tape? the Pannaracer Pasela is a great tire. Celeste housings would make an interesting spash with the Orchid paint.

Was the original saddle purple? I don't remember. I'm sure somebody would buy those tires if you tried to sell them to fund new tires. Purple tires might look pretty cool on my Raleigh...

Jecksida, glad to see it coming along and turning out so nice for you. I think the bike is going to be really sharp when you are done with and... and a load of fun to ride around. It is really nice that you are getting into it and tackling things yourself. Keep it up, I am looking forward to seeing more pics as it comes along.

thanks for all the support and encouragement! i am glad you all like my bike. i'm in love with it. will post more pics soon!
ok... these are the levers:
these are the new hoods:
sooooo.... no good? the new hoods look slightly different.... to be honest, i like the look & feel of the old hoods better, but they are haggard. i assumed the difference might just be quality..... but... i don't really know. i think they are c record hoods and levers. but if i need to keep looking.... i can do that.
oh, and bianchigirl.... i was told its a 1989 bianchi sport sx, but i am not sure if the seller was wrong about the year, and i don't know how to check for sure what year this bike is.

realestvin7 -- i made an effort to sell the tires on craigslist, but i have had 0 interest in any bike parts that i post on craigslist, so i have kind of given up....
roboisgod -- its a fizik vesta.... i found it on ebay, new, for like 1/2 the price!! it was someone that said it came with their bike, but they weren't going to use it, so it was a great find for me. i have seen some stores online that sell it too. ebay was just a better deal. i have seen some other fizik saddles, but i liked this one best for how simple and clean it looks.
