I dont even have any words.

cudak888 02-20-11 03:50 PM

I like the Paramount.

I am an idiot.

That aside, it looks like a '77-79 P13-9, if those waterbottle cage mounts and braze-on shifters are original. The need for the drop bolt on the brake bridge doesn't add up on a P13 though, even though the lack of eyelets would suggest that it is a P13. What's the serial?

-Kurt

lord_athlon 02-20-11 03:54 PM

Kurt, I like them both equally

Capecodder 02-20-11 03:54 PM

Either the chain is off the jockey wheels or it's way too short......

Baroudeur 02-20-11 03:55 PM

Not! Fair!

Those are both incredible...

Oh, no doubt, I love Super Corsas as much as the next guy, but there is something undeniably fun about ID'ing a Paramount that's been screwed around with...more times than Lady Chatterley, in this case.

bikenut2011 02-20-11 04:00 PM

andy

lord_athlon 02-20-11 04:01 PM

I'm glad im not the only one who finds paramounts to be fun

divineAndbright 02-20-11 04:07 PM

What hubs are on the paramount? |They look kinda familiar, sorta Hi-e, or some small American custom job with the cromoly shell.

User-modified '75 P13-9, most likely.

Yep, they both came from the same seller.

auchencrow 02-20-11 04:17 PM

Wow - what a deal.
- And to think they were probably for sale all day Saturday, with a thousand people milling buy, and commenting, "look at those crappy old ten-speeds - who would want to buy THOSE!?"

not the case here in Dallas, there's like 10 flippers looking all the time and at least 6 of them know what these bikes are :)

guzziee 02-20-11 04:21 PM

What's the crank on the paramount? specialized? I know I've seen it before.

FlatTop 02-20-11 04:23 PM

Dammit, Guzziee! j/k

I'm going back to sleep now :)

Well it's a good thing those 6 dirty flippers were still in church!

I knew I went to the wrong one. Nice find man.

poprad 02-20-11 04:41 PM

I don't even want to ask what you paid for those. It'll just make it worse. OK, what did you shell out?

jstewse 02-20-11 04:43 PM

Incredible finds, now what'd you pay for them?

$150 bucks for both.

x136 02-20-11 04:55 PM

Nice finds. All I ever seem to see are overpriced straight-gauge junkers at best, or department store stuff at worst.

Yep. Three piece hubs, alloy flanges either threaded or pressed onto a steel center section.
