1961 Ralegh Lenton Grand Prix (finally *almost* finished)

Wanted to share some pictures of my completed 61 Raleigh Lenton Grand Prix. Bought from an antique store in somewhat rough condition. Surprisingly, the paint is in terrific condition with only a few minor scratches. Tore it down and cleaned everything and just got it back together yesterday.

The reason I say "almost" finished is I'm hoping one of you find C&V'ers has the frame pump that goes to this bike under the top tube. If not a Raleigh branded pump, something clean and classic that's just kicking around in a box somewhere. I'd love to take it off your hands if anyone has such a piece.

I'm also keeping my eyes out for an old Brooks B15 Swallow. The one on there now will go on my other classic Raleigh.

Sorry about photo quality (phone pictures) and it was a little too bright outside so I included pictures from Friday when it was almost done.

JKohler - You are such a lucky dog, finding one of those - and in such good condition too!

PS- Your brake cables are reversed. -Maybe that's an English thing, but I would still have to change it!

Thanks!

Yea, I thought the brakes were weird too but that's how it came from the antique store (which looked like it was all original). Also, the brakes are "aimed" that way. Here's a pic of what I mean:

Now I am somewhat of a newb (started cycling & got into vintage bikes 2 years ago) so correct me if I'm wrong. I couldn't figure out how else the cables would be routed to un-reverse the levers.

I think you do have the original routing - at least I've seen pictures of others routed that way.

Like this one.

It would still make me go bonkers though - I'm so used to the other way.

That is very beautiful. I'd leave the brake cables just the way you have them, they look nice.

Beautiful Raleigh!

The cables are fine, front caliper to right hand lever is the proper way on an English machine.

Or if you just like to be able to brake and signal at the same time. Most of my bikes have a right/front setup.

Beautiful bike!

No, unfortunately it's an odd size. There's a 16" chrome pump you can get pretty easily and cheaply, but it's too short. I believe you need a 17"er. I have a "Mt Zefal" pump on mine, which is an okay pump and fits the pegs admirably, but it's ugly ugly ugly.
