a letter to paolo guerciotti...

I finally got a reply from the Guerciotti company saying that Paolo would answer any questions i had. Ill be asking about sloping fork crowns, the introduction of internal cable routing to their line, their relationship with cinelli. Hopefully ill finally get a year pinned down to my beloved guerciotti.

Are there any questions you guys have for him ?

Yes, please: ask him what contractors built frames for him and approximate years/models. Minus the obvious ALAN aluminum frames, we know those already. If he's really forthcoming, it would be something to finally get an insider's knowledge about what contractors were supplying what frames to who (big brandnames), but that seems to be a deep, dark secret so I won't be holding my breath. My specific mystery is a friend's blue cyclocross frame, Columbus steel, '80s...

I thought someone already did this - and received quite an ambiguous reply.

LoL. Yeah, Kurt that was me.

I emailed the U.S. distributor and he forwarded my questions to Alessandro who i suspect doesn't know much about bikes. This time i was told that Paolo would be responding to my email.

Sorry Cito, didn't bring any troll food.

I have done some work for Paolo. He owes me a few favors. I don't see there being any information that he is readily capable and would be willing to reveal that is not available elsewhere. You obviously have other ideas, so knock yourself out.

I am sorry Citoyen. I thought you were being facetious. I obviously spend too much time over on the road forums.

What kind of work did you do?

Interesting how the ROAD forum and the C&V forum are quite different, huh?
