Winter Project Complete. Path/Road/Racer/Clubman (Pic Heavy)

Well guys my winter project is complete. This is my version of a Path/Road/Racer/Clubman. I using all the terms so we don't get into the whole what is a path/racer road clubman debate again.
This bike started life as a '73 Dawes Galaxy that I got from a bike co-op. It was outside waiting to be fixed up, so I did. I fixed it up and tried to sale it for a year but I didn't get much interest except for flippers wanting me to give it away. Well this fall I decided to make it into a path/road.
Here it is before I started.

I took everything off but the cranks. The decals were shot so what was left was removed. I thought about making it a fixed gear but thought about my old knees. Instead I went with a Sturmey/ Archer S2C kickback hub with a coaster brake. I wanted to keep the handlebars clean, no brake levers or 3 speed shifter. Next were the bars. When Soma came out with the "new" Lauterwasser bars I knew it was time to make my path/road bike, so I ordered them. Since I had to order the hub I knew I would have to get the wheels built. I have always wanted to learn how to build wheels so here was my chance. I got Rodger Munson's book on wheel building and went for it. I built them on 27in rims and am quite happy how they turned out. Anyone want to try building their wheels I highly recommend Munson's book. Very easy to follow directions.
I finished up the build with some solid cork grips from Riv Bike, and some rubber block pedals from an old J.C. Higgins kids bike from the 60's. If I ever needed to I could fight off a bear with those pedals. They weigh a ton. Also I'd like to thank Amesja for the Bluemels shortie fenders. I think they look great. Thanks Bro.
Well here are the pics of the finished product.

Well there she is, sorry if it's too many pics. I'm open to suggestions.

Thx
Mutt

@ Cyclotoine Thx, It's a new version of an old design. It's a two speed with a coaster brake. You change gears by trying to back pedal. If you rock the crank backwards a tiny bit it changes gears. Back peddle a little more and it applies the brakes.

Thanks, Yeah it really is a kick in the pants to ride. I was really concerned about the bars. I thought that they may be uncomfortable, but they are very comfy. Of course the frame is a great riding frame. I think this bike will make a fine pub crawler or social rider. Can't wait for the Tweed Ride this fall.

Really nice...only thing that doesn't do it for me is the white tires. Standard set of tan walls, IMHO, would really compliment it well.

EDIT: I guess what gets me is the white tires and all the warmish honey Brooksy colors in the saddle, grips, and frame.

BTW, LOVE the shorties!!!! (thought you needed that for the beating you took )

EDIT: This gives me inspiration for a frameset I have hanging around here that is destined for a SS project, I LOVE those bars.

Haha, Thanks Khatfull. Yes these are where the shorties went that I was talking about. Yeah I knew the white tires wouldn't appeal to all, but it seems that a lot of the vintage pics I've seen of the old Path/Racers have white tires, so that's the way I went.
Thanks again for the shorties love, lol. In case anyone missed the beating I took over the shorties here's the thread

Great look.
And it is probably great for racing around on paths, you know, dirt trails.

Great build, really classy. Couldn't possibly get those pristine white tyres all muddy & dusty on a trail.

What a gloriously pretty ride! I love the white tires on it. Much, much nicer than the original.

You know I'm not really sure I think they are 22.6mm diameter. I'm not sure what size bar ends are. I got mine from Universal Cycle. I think they were $59 there.
