Aww Shucks. thanks for the compliments. I've adjusted the front brake cable and the bike now stops. I rode it to do some messages the other day and discovered a new problem when I unlocked it. The alloy rails on the seat are starting to crack at the nose. Looks like I'll have to put a Brooks on it until I can work out a way to restore/repair the seat.

Fabulous blue French bikes, all. Thanks for making me want yet another bike. I love my dark red P8, though. I won't post a photo since it isn't blue.

Finished refitting the ladies UE18 last week with new Sachs running gear and used a Huret Jubilee front derailleur... wheels are Nisi 27 inch alloy laced to Normandy hubs.
Elegant shifters... indexed 7 speed.
NOS 7 speed and Sachs Rival rear derailleur.
It is an exceptionally smooth riding bike... had an Ideale model 92 but it was too narrow so picked up a lovely Brooks B67 in an antique and honey finish.

Sixty Fiver, you have to stop. Now I want something with that shifter, preferably that bike. Between you and Daveyates, I'm going to need a third bike.
And a Raleigh Twenty to ride when we're at the motorhome, so that's four. Then I should get the BF one to ride too, which is five (because I'd have to get a different kind of cool folder so that we can be cute, but not too matchy, you know...) and then... and then...
Crap. Why do I open threads like this?

I also picked up a lovely Raleigh 20 for my fair lady although it is green... and not blue... and does not match my Phillip's 20.
Our tandem is also blue.

snarkypup - I had a matching UE18 to this one that was in immaculate shape and in the same shade of blue but it sold very quickly.
The Girl wants to get her blue Peugeot powder coated a nice shade of sage green and the frame is in need of some refinishing.

I agree with snarkypup, as usual. You've outdone yourself again, Sixty Fiver.

- And Snarky - WHO DOES NOT NEED A THIRD BIKE?
It is a prerequisite - a rite of passage!
Because without one, you'll never have a 4th. Nor a 5th. Nor a 6th.... Nor a (N+1).

Sixty-Fiver, I think there are too many others involved in our relationship. I suspect there would be objections to the marriage on both sides. But it would be almost worth it to have a brief love affair with that bike. I know I would shortly be filled with regrets, but in the moment...
But yes, I am feeling the N+1 right now, probably because The Viva is my only working bike. Once The Raleigh is back up and running, that will help.

Are those fenders and chain guard metal? Has it been put on the scales? This is what Brando or James Dean would be riding if their 2 wheeler were pedal powered.
Scratch that! Theirs would probably be black.

Attach a baseball card to a fender stay with a clothespin so that it scrapes the spokes, and it'll sound like a motorcycle. Ah, I forgot, there's probably no such thing as baseball cards and clothespins nowadays.

Am sure I could find some sports cards of some kind and barring that... chloroplast would probably be awesome.
