Need help with this 1958 Campagnolo Record Pista crankset !

Got these on a track bike that is likely from the 70's or 80's and the privous owner has polished them. He claims not to have removed any anodizing when polishing them so it makes me wonder if these were originally anodized.

I have had pretty much every type of Record cranks post 1958 and all of them were anodized but since these were the very first maybe they started after that?

The chainring is not correct for a Pista crankset I know, it had a Sugino chainring when I got it. This is more appropriate at least. Also the bolts seem a bit long even though the design appears correct.

I know not many people have experience with these but I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thanks!

The first generation cranks were not anodized. I've had two pairs and they were just polished.

Make sure you use the correct pedal with the short axles or you'll pop out the dust covers.

Is that a 3/32" ring? Seems like the bolts would be ok with a track ring. That's a nice crankset.

Thanks ! that is great news ! To be honnest I though suggesting they were not anodized was wishfull thinking on my part.

Thanks Picchio. I'd be curious to know how these ended up on that bike.

Yes, but its the only 151bcd Campagnolo chainring I had in my parts stash. The Sugino chainring that was on it is somewhat thicker but the bolts were still sticking out. The Campagnolo track rings are even thicker though. You might be onto something though as these could be had with skip tooth ring that were even thicker than 1/8 rings.

My road 151's aren't polished either; second variant of the first-gen Record, I believe.

Out of curiosity, what's the arm length on those?

Yeah , I've had some second gen Record's with the raised lip around the pedals threads but without the dustcaps and they were anodized, these are not though.

They are in the very popular 165mm lenght
