My Raleigh Bighorn and my Kuwahara Sierra
Hi guys, I just got a new camera and thought I would share my pair of vintage steel mountain magic.
The first one is an old Raleigh Bighorn. This is the comfiest bike I own, and my current street slayer. I bought the bike for $3 at a police auction, and have put $50 into it. I figure I have done alright.
The second bike is my dad's Kuwahara Sierra. He bought this bike brand new and has rode some gnarly stuff on it. He babied it, cleaned it, lubed it, so it is in awesome shape besides the chipped paint. He barely rides it, and I have the Bighorn, so it rarely gets it's legs flexed occasionally. This thing will be in the family forever.
Did I mention I'm only a mere 15 years of age?

Welcome to C&V, or at least to a thread about your awesome mountain bombers!
I love the Kuwahara - those old bikes last forever. One forum member (paging Sixty) has two that he uses for winter and fixed gear duties.
The Raleigh looks killer with the dark fenders, but with that gearing it looks like it couldn't tackle a very steep slope! Definitely perfect for street duty, though.

I love that the decals on the Raleigh mimic the font and style of the old decals of the Sports and Superbe. Really a nice juxtaposition of rough 'n tumble mountain toughness alongside the heritage of the Raleigh brand.
