Bridgestone MB-3 ... sell it, keep it and use it, or store it?
I bought a new Bridgestone MB-3 back in the mid 1990's ... I tore up my foot the same week playing basketball and couldn't do anything physically for 6 months ... never got around to using the bike and it still sits in my basement, in the same condition as the day I bought it.
I've given up basketball now and want to pick up biking ... thought about keeping this bike as a "townie" to putt around on pavement in our small town and getting a true mountain bike to use for the single track trails in and outside of town.
Good idea? Better idea to sell this and use the funds to buy an even better mountain bike? Pristine perfect Bridgestone's are collectable, right? Or, would I be better off just hanging on to it and not using it and hope that in another 15 years its value will go up?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Pretty decent bike...

Keep it, or spend two or three grand for a nice new bike.
Definitely sounds like a "keeper" to me (still the right size frame, right?). Good thing you held onto it!

Great resources ... thanks for sharing.
Glad to hear you recommend "keeping" ... that's the direction I am leaning ... but, do I continue to just store it and not use it, or do I use it, keeping in mind that I take really good care of things and the kind of riding I would do on this wouldn't abuse it.
Oh, and yes, it still fits.

An MB-1 can be sold for decent money, and an MB-2 for a bit less. In my opinion an MB-3 will never be worth much, but I could be wrong.
I have an MB-2 set up for pavement with narrow slicks. It's a very nice bike, but I'm about to put it up for sale. My road bikes are much better for street use than a relatively heavy mountain bike.

As for "street" tires for an MTB, take a look at these (on sale at $7.99 a piece) ... Nashbar, Niagara Cycle Works, JensonUSA ... plenty of deals online ...
