Miyata One Ten 1024 VS Centurion Le Mans 12 WHICH ONE?!
I currently own the two bikes above. Neither has been modified in any way. I need to get rid of one. They both ride damn smooth so I don't know which one has a better "foundation" to build from. They both have pro's and con's but I don't know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Are you sure about that 1024? Are you just reading the tubing label off the fork? Most of the Miyata 110s had cromoly main frame, pretty comparable to the Lemans 12. So it is a wash. I would not put a lot of money into either one of them. They are nice bikes, but near the bottom of the product line. I would start with something higher up the line if I was going to spend serious upgrade $$. So if you are looking for a "foundational" bike to build up, I might just sell both of them (find a replacement first of course).

I was really impressed with the first ride on my Centurion LeMans last night, for what it's worth. Shoot, man, a bike's a bike. Pick the one in overall better shape and run with it.

My One Ten is 1024. I'm hanging on to it in case I need the raw materials to forge weapons from after the impending zombie apocolypse.

I actually have four bikes so I have to sell one of the road bikes since I have two. I was just reading the tube which said 1024. Nothing else says that. I agree that the Centurion is a smoother ride and it looks like it hasn't been abused at all. I was going to dump some money into one of these bikes so given the general consensus of "Low end bike" I think I'll save my pennies and just do the necessary work on this one till I can afford a better bike to build off of.

Gotcha...the 'investment' is already made. On the Miyata, by 'the tube which said 1024' do you mean the fork? If so the frame might be CrMo steel, lighter and 'better' though it's not necessarily a big difference. The bikes are very similar models, but one may be more recent than the other, and Japanese bikes got steadily better during the 80s, so if it's a Lemans of 1984 it could be a much nicer bike than a Miyata 110 of 1982. Or vice versa.
Also as you note, the Centurion is in better shape. Do both bikes fit you?
