The "Hippie Bike". Very ugly paint job, but an excellent trail rider. Bontrager Privateer with Trek serial and identifiable top tube cable guide arrangement.

Nice brake pads. Now please show us the rest!
Thanks. This also has the 910. I'm really having fits trying to use photobucket - I do have more pictures so I'll post them when/if my brain starts to work. |

Don't beat yourself up too much. A recent thread on Classic Rendezvous didn't give Photobucket much love. If you haven't invested too much into it yet, I'd look for an alternative: Flickr, Ipernity, etc.

'83 620 I picked up at a yard sale last year. Bit small for me but a great ride. |
'85 Trek 760 that I got from BF member sloar as a bare frame. Did some touch-up on it and from 5 feet it looks pretty good. Components are all Shimano 105 from 1987, but in really, really great shape cosmetically and mechanically. One size too small for me so it will wind up on the block, but so much fun to build a bike with such an awesome frame!

Is that out by Idaho Springs?
South of there a bit. This is a back road over Conifer Mountain. |

I took my 81 710 on vacation to Maine last week.

Found this 520 on the used rack at the LBS. I think it was used minimally to pull a kiddie trailer.

While certainly not in the same spirit as the many fine vintage Treks shown in this thread, this is a Trek, it's 20 years old and it's American made steel. I decided I didn't like the bike I built up on a new frameset so I swapped the components over to my old Trek frame. I haven't gotten around to transferring the brakes over yet. I HATE messing with brakes!

Very, very nice. From here it looks mostly original.

I posted my 460 in the thread a few months back as well as in its current form on the retro w/ sti thread, but I can't resist sharing Ol' Blue

http://i1182.photobucket.com/albums/...psvkky56s1.jpg That looks great! I don't recall seeing one of those 87 520s- that "burgundy/slate fade" is pretty styley. I also didn't realize how "legit" that bike was. Looks like a well equipped bike. Congratulations! |
