Screws to studs....I bought the rails and a few hooks at Sears and additional hooks on Amazon. The cost was very reasonable.

Gladiator garage works:

it is 8:30pm already?? OY! what a day. well I don't think it will win any prizes but I believe I am done.

Lowes did not have 1x3x10 cheapish boards and I was reluctant to spend $8 or 9 dollars for the good one just for this project. I hopethe 2 8' ones will be enough.

yes there are two very good reasons I did not stain all the way to the floor.

1, my knee is killing me from crawling in and around that thing all day.

2, I am BEAT!!! I need a shower and cocktail!

plus I still have to get the 4 bikes and all the wheels out of my bedroom

Good News.. I did not hear a huge crash in the midle of the night!! it looks as though this may actually work. I respaced the bikes a bit, 10" for the hooks was a bit cramped. except for the hook on either end they are all 12" apart now and it is a easier to get them in and out.

I put the two bikes I am least likely to use often in the most cramped area to the left against the wall.

OH It appears I did win a prize!!

thank you again for all the suggestions. I really wish I could use something as simple as MiamiJim's suggestion. I am going to hunt that down and get a few sections of it for when I move.

Good yob!

Looking at that, I wonder if I could re-purpose some garage door track? Cheap, strong, widely available... Hmmmm...
