odd mix, info request.
Timmy the hoarder/flipper has an interesting bike. MB grand record, vitus tubed F&F, frame is bent ever so slightly with shoddy respray.
The bike has Stronglight 49A cranks in good shape, Some odd centerpull brakes I have never seen and a most unusual hub set. Chrome steel shells about 1-1/2" (38mm) in diameter with large angled aluminum flanges. The guy wants $100.00 for the bike. I guess I should grab it at least for the cranks.. any idea on the hubs? The chrome is compromised but they look interesting and roll like glass.

Grab it!
I know, it's your money and your storage space, so I shouldn't be so cavalier.
But as you say, the cranks make it worth the gamble. I've seen excellent hubs with chromed steel barrels and aluminum flanges, though not of the proportions you describe; still, could be very nice.

Ya, I think I can catch him before he gets to Marlow if I drive fast enough.
Got it. no markings on the hubs, Polygon front brake. Pics tonight.
Correction: The hubs say "phil".
nice.

Phil plus 49A less $100 equals score. Nice!
