Plastic MTB Spring Adjuster

Anyone know of a source for these? Searched Niagra....they have the springs but I'm not finding these.

Cantilever brakes have a little plastic casing that goes over the spring on the canti boss, it has an adjuster screw in it. They have a habit of cracking/breaking on late model MTBs. Commonly found on Gary Fisher and Specialized.

Actually, your description is not totally correct. The bottom end/low Shimano cantis had that cheap plastic spring housing. But go up a few levels, and they used a metal spring housing. So the trick is replacing the calipers with a little better model from Shimano, with the metal housings.

I typically find replacements either on donor bikes, or misc parts scores. I know to keep an eye out for the better cantis, so I grab them when they are reasonable.

No new replacements for those cheap plastic spring housings are being made. And if you are going used, why not get the ones with the metal housing?
