Late 80's Marin MTB
I've been looking for an inexpensive trail/mountain bike to ride with my daughter while camping and short rides on the local paths etc..and I came across this bike on CL. I offered $25 for it and brought it home.
The original owner hardly rode it, so he says, and thought he bought it in the mid to late 80's. I could not find any Serial numbers off hand and thought maybe someone here could date it and give some info on the components.
It's a 6 speed Shimano exage mountain/trail SLR components, Joytech hubs, not sre what rims. $25 bucks for a decent bike that fits is a pretty good in my book.

Looked through the Marin catalogs archived here - https://www.birota.ru/catalogues/index.php?g=b&b=121 - but came back empty-handed. Likely pre-91.
Marin kept the model names consistent, however, and the Palisades Trail model was an upper-mid level bike. Definitely not too shabby, and that thing looks to be stock!
Nice find, especially at that price!

U brake = late 1980s. Easy to date by looking up component codes. Nice find!
