Has anyone heard of RHS bikes?

Has anyone heard of RHS bikes? This is the Gran Sport model but I don't know anything else about them.

Are you sure it's not KHS?

The lady that's selling it for $20 said it's an RHS. Has KHS been around as long as this bike looks old?

I was thinking that bike looked like a Ross. Most of thei bikes were not too great though had a few good ones. Out of Allentown, PA as I recall. Can't see markings on the bike.

Well, this bicycle is no older than the early 1980s, unless parts have been swapped out. KHS has been around longer than that.

Halfspeed may be correct in his assumption. KHS did have a model called the Gran Sport in the early 1980s and the component mix (from what I can see - derailleurs, shifters, brakes, cranksets) matches with the specs. At this period, KHS was putting the model name on the down tube and the company name on the top tube, so even though nothing is legible in the picture, you can discern a long decal on the down tube and the short one on the top tube.

BTW, the Gran Sport was entry level. The main tubes were Tange CrMo plain gauge, but the stays and forks were high tensile steel. Retail price was around $175 US, depending on the year.

from what I've seen of them (limited) it would be better to be a KHS than a Ross
