please help me ID this Bianchi

have almost same identical Bianchi like this one. Just some components is different. Can anyone judge it from the frame and components to see what year it is? is it close to the higher up model? Thanks!

Pretty sure Campion D'Italia is the name of the model. There is another thread going right now that features the same bike, I believe:

Right! I noticed that, too. Thanks! But the tubing decals are different although they are all say "Champione D'Italia" on both bikes. The one on that threat is formula tubing and mine is Columbus tubing. Anyone knows what year is mine? Is it even close to the higher up models? Thanks!

1994 is the only year CDI is listed with Columbus tubing on Bikepedia https://www.bikepedia.com/quickbike/B...alia&Type=bike

But I see that Bikepedia only covers bikes back to 1993, so "never mind".

Well, my 95 CDI has Deda tubes, so it's not one of those. 95 had Mirage with ergoshifters, not the downtube if those are original. Sweet bike!

yes, this Campione de italia would be either a '89 or '90 model. the '88 and '89/90s were very similar but the latter had a CroMor frame and the former had a Formula frame. great Bianchis none the less.

I am thinking of replacing the BB of my 1989 CDI. Maybe get some parts from ebay? Anyone knows what kind of BB I should get? My budget is around $150. I guess I will also need to change the original Quattro crankarm, right? Can you provide me the info of this BB? i.e. threading, spindle size...etc. Thanks!

why do you want to change it? are the cups or spindle worn? double check the illustrious Sheldon's site but I believe Ofmega had their own taper which may make finding a new BB tricky.

Is spindle. The surface where the bearing contact with is in pretty bad shape. I have to not tighten up the BB cap very much to let the BB rotate freely. In this way, when I pedal hard and there is always some noise from there. I guess is because not tighten up the BB cap will cause the play. When I hold on both crank arms to shake it, I can feel the play!
You are right about they had their own taper. This is why I think I will need crank arms also if I want to replace the BB assembly.
