Not necessarily so. The caché of having your frame done by Joe Bell and a few others is very high and some people are willing to wait. And one must admit Joe Bell's paint jobs are outstanding. IIRC, Joe Bell has stopped taking new jobs.

I've never had problems finding a body shop to do small jobs. When I worked for a body shop, we often did motorcycle parts and other smaller restorations. There are some that probably think it is beneath them to do a bike, but shop around, you'll eventually find a guy who realizes customer service generates new business. If the shop is busy, you might wait a few weeks, but a year is ridiculous IMHO. BTW, at the body shop where I worked, a major error like a wrong color or even a color mismatch would be an automatic fix at our cost with an apology and probably a discount.
