A Pair o' Paramounts

More pics of the collection. I have two '74 Paramounts. The white one was purchased in very original condition and just needed cleanup and servicing (new cables, bar tape, etc.) and replacement of a decal on the seat tube. The red one was in a lot rougher shape. It had no downtube decals, the chrome was very rough and it had a fair amount of rust. It cleaned up pretty good though and I replaced the downtube decals with NOS original replacements. I don't really think there is any chrome left, I think I just have the nickel plating that was under the chrome but it polishes up pretty nice. I also replaced bar tape and cables, etc on this bike and replaced the later model Japanese brakes it had on it with NOS Schwinn approved Dia Compe brakes and levers. I did the lug lining on the red one myself. Not really original but early Paramounts had lug outlining and I thought it looked good.

That's some real eye candy there - I'd even say it's TWO much eye candy!

Color keyed cable ends, huh?

Capo #2's chrome head lug are probably down to the nickel undercoat, as well, but it does indeed look pretty good w/ a little polishing.
