Sad news for sure. I was just watching the NY Fondo on Youtube yesterday and he gave a bike
away at the awards presentation. This proves one thing that I have been aware of for quite some time .... Cycling is NO safeguard against a heart attack. Johnnybee. |
Even when preventive medicine is available often people are reluctant to get checked or in our ever costly world reluctant to ask for or spend the dollars for investigating possible disease - Poor man taken before his time - But then again we may find out that he had been living on the edge and cherishing each day including his last ride - I hope this was the case...
We must always remember that everyday is judgment day... |

Sad news. I will be 40 in November, so I agree it is scary stuff.
Besides, if your name in Pinarello, is there a better way to go when the time comes? |
Wasn't he the guy coordinationg the Pinarello/Merckx bike? That was a really pretty ride.
Heart disease doesn't care how old you are. My dad had 4 from 46 to 65. I had one at 26. Sometimes, it just doesn't matter. |
As somebody approaching 60,it makes me appreciate every moment even more.
