2 legged kickstands?
Like on a Raleigh Superbe? I want one for my Super Course but it's got fat 27"s on it. Will a Superbe stand work? Do you guys know any good aftermarket ones?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Have you got enough room at your SeatTube/ChainStay junction and wheel - I think that the cross support for the chain stays gets in the way of the kickstand mounting bolt...

Yes this is where the problem develops... Touring bikes have got enough room (trail?) to fit the hardware but ya need to be sure you got the room...

I'm using the Copenhagen stand that lostarchitecht linked. I really like it. I've ordered some of the molded plastic chainstay protectors as djkashuba shows.

I had the VO porteur kickstand until it broke after just a short time in use. It was flimsy right from the start, and it was heavy, as well. The legs wobbled and prevented the bike from standing stably. I replaced it with a much lighter pletcher double leg kickstand, which works great, and supports the bike more stably. The best part about it is that I found it in one of the used bins at my local co-op for $10. Currently it's on my wife's Soma mixte. It clears the fat 42mm 650B tires just fine:
djkashube/colonel: where can I get those chainstay protectors? Those are neat! I used clear plastic film between the kickstand plate and the stays, but your solution looks cleaner and also looks like it would protect better against crimping.
Oh, and +1 point to djkashuba for giving the kickstand bolt double duty as a fender bracket mount. Nice integration there.

Thanks for the +1 point on the bracket. Not elegant but works!

Rivendell also sells the plastic pieces. The shipping on the little part from Thor was crazy so I just added some stuff to the Riv order to justify it in my mind.

It looks like a local(ish) C+Ver has a Plescher for me if I want it. I love this forum.
So how far do those stick out (Plescher and VO, just for reference)? I picked up a $6 single stand from the LBS a while back and it stuck out far enough to rub the pedals.
Don't know if this paint job warrants those fancy plastic bits but I think I'll get some anyway. They just look like a good idea.

How long do you adjust the length of the legs to? I've got a Pletscher on just one bike, and it keeps one wheel about 4" off the ground, which I've decided is too high. I was going to cut it down so it would leave the wheel 2" off the ground, but ColonelJLloyd shows his having both legs and both wheels on the ground. I was going to leave a little room for dealing with uneven ground....

The plastic "boots" on the Copenhagen are adjustable. As it came it was just right for my frame with these tires. It's a rare occurrence, though, that I set it somewhere level enough for four points of contact.

I have the VO mass load one (copenhagen), and it does the job, except the minimum length is still too long in my opinion, a bit chunky, and it's a bit rattly at times. If I had to do it all over again I would spend the extra $20 for the Pletscher, and Rivendell has a nice blurb about how to cut it to size (initially) and sell the shoes for it as well. But at the end of the day I'm pretty happy with the double kickstand.
