Google is your friend. Google Gitane catalog 1983, first listing is a 1983 Gitane catalog.

Do you know Robert Broderick? He may have more than one paper copy. He used to communicate on CR, I don't know if he made the switch over to the new Group.

If you want to buy actual vintage catalogs, eBay is your best choice. There are two 1984 on eBay right now, not cheap.
I have gotten a few catalogs with the purchase of a bike, but that is rare (3 or 4 times in 200+ bikes).
