Saw one in local news paper. Said to be in great shape. Anybody out there know anything about this model , such as years made, where made, could this be changed to single speed ? THANKS.

From what I've seen on this site, it was made by Giant in Tiawan in the 1980's. There is a good thread on the Schwinns of this era at "https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?threadid=50844". I recently cleaned up a 1983 garage sale World Sport and it works better than I ever expected. It's a 10-speed with non-indexed Suntour gears and shifters, alloy crank arms and handle bar clamp but chromed steel seat post, hubs and rims. The bike has a lot of chrome and polished alloy which I think looks good but then I'm 61 years old so what do I know? I'm very pleased with the bike, especially considering it has only cost $30 so far, tires and all and is very shiny.

I'm going to look at one here today. Saw this one in an add on Craigslist.

https://www.craigslist.org/sby/bik/64765741.html

He wants $75. Anything special I should look for as far as a lugged frame, cromo, etc. Price seems a little much but he said it's in pretty good shape. Thanks.
