rear dyno lighting wiring

what are the options for wiring a rear light cleanly? my bike already has wire guides on the fork blades, but I'd also like to set up the rear light without zip-ties if possible. would it be possible to hold the wiring in place under the downtube with 3M clear adhesive vinyl (like https://www.blockachip.com/bike.php)? Or would that not be robust enough? bad idea?

I figure if there's enough slack in the wire to allow full movement of the front wheel and is held in place by the vinyl, the wiring should be fine since the wiring wouldnt be disturbed. I'd probably use a hole punch to create a hole in the vinyl for the wiring to enter; perhaps that would help prevent tearing or the edge from lifting.

Just an idea -- why other options exist?

This is a subject right up my alley!

Personally I don't think it would work well. That film is designed to lay adhered to a surface, and with a bulge created by the wire, there will be air gaps that can collect moisture and dirt, and will just look ghetto. As much as I abhor zip ties, I think they might be a better idea in this case.

Can you post a picture of your frame? Depending on your frame, there may be several other options that may look cleaner than zip ties.

I have used dabs of silicone in strategic places to hold wires in place. Use the clear stuff. I tried this trick to hold a wire along the inside of a fender bead and it worked great.

Not a C&V bike but my commuter has the tail light wire wrapped around the non-drive side stay and fender stay. Couple of wire ties hold it tight. Ridden many miles, as well as some light off, road with no issues.
