I am not sure... bike was built here in the mid nineties and am not sure how that stay was built up... could have been a scratch job or assembled from a pre-built casting.

I just finished the final work on my wife's bike. It's a 90s Bianchi Premio frameset, set up with Suntour components (which I need to jump on the Trade forum and search for a Suntour right hand 7 speed thumb shifter). I put on some nice baskets, the rear is a standard wicker basket, fastened on using some old toe straps and also using some WWII German doube buckle straps which add a nice touch. The rear rack is a Wald Woody. She loves it.

I don't think I've posted this yet. 1988 Panasonic DX-3000. Not real fancy, and not such a looker, but really nice ride.
What's the trick now to get larger pics to post?

Skip, I was really on the fence whether to leave it original or repaint. If you look at these pics you can see how rough it was.

1980 white ''Chicago " Schwinn Super Le Tour $43.oo Thrift store project find on May, 5 2012 If it would have been any color but white I could have walked away from it !
Shimano Altus rear derailure is broken and a front spoke and thus rim is bent. Needs tires and a wider set of drop bars would be nice....

Any suggestions would be helpful.

I have to say the 70s/80s flip up handlebars are golden! I remember so many people doing that to the bars...great stuff.

slap a spoke in the wheel...true it up the best you can. slap a one cog on the back or a single speed cog. and bike! keep it fun, keep it cheap.

The White '' Chicago Schwinn Super Le Tour wound up being a 25" / 63,5 cm bike. Way too tall so it s going to have to go down the road, but.....

Ya did good with that on! Man there was a White Turbo saddle at Ham Jam last week that would have looked perfect on that bike.

Very nice. Get rid of the splash tape and you'll really have something.

Not a vintage bike, but certainly a vintage-styled build. Unfortunately, I only have a zoom lens so only detail shots right now.

There's still a few bits and bobs I plan to change out to complete the build. I'm also thinking about buying a San Marco Supercorsa saddle along with some Benotto tape to make it more Italian.
