thanks for the words. It was a fun project, i really enjoyed it. My first italian race bike was a 89 de rosa and I raced as a high school kid... fun to have this now to ride.
The color is better in this photo, been trying to get better photographs, light, composition, etc...

PM me if you'd like to part with a pair of those hoods. I don't have enough posts yet to PM you back so you can leave an email or number if you'd like.
Thanks!
Thanks!
@dgerst Welcome to the forums. Lovely Guerciotti. Reprodocution hoods for Campy brakes are pretty commonly available on eBay from a number of sellers in Italy (reasonable price, high shipping). I recently bought four sets to reduce the per-set shipping cost. I'd be happy to let go of a set. If you decide you don't like the Regal saddle, let me know. I've been thinking about trying one. I might be interested in taking it off your hands.

I'm curious. What chain are you using? I like my SR derailleurs as well, though I still think I should start hunting up some stiffer chains, at least for my NR-equipped bikes.

Skip, that's a Shimano HG series 9 speed chain.
I should also mention that those are NOS Shimano 1050 series jockey wheels in the RD. Same size as the original Campagnolo jockey wheels but a sharper & deeper tooth profile for better chain control.

So many beautiful road bikes on here! well, here's my main ride. Not a road bike, though
1979 Raleigh Superbe, finished it a little over a month ago
Main mods are Sun CR18 rims, Schwalbe Delta Cruiser tires. Sturmey-Archer drum brake Dynohub and drum brake 5-speed, 46/20 cogs. DT champion spokes, Pletscher rack and double kickstand. There are lots of other little things and a Wald 582 folding basket and old style raleigh reflector have since been added. Not the wisest use of money but I love this nonetheless. Weighs 44 pounds, the same as the Raleigh below - the new wheel setup weighs the same as the original AW/Dynohub/steel wheel set so no weight reduction on this one at all. It is super comfortable, though.
My favorite bike:
1958 Raleigh lady's Sports
Restored cosmetically in summer 2014 but has almost all the original parts. Original SW and Dynohub. The SW has served us beautifully until a few days ago so I'll be opening it up to see what's wrong. She my bae.
And then there's my beater
1979 Ross Professional Gran Tour
Rescued from the dump for free, all other components shown were also gotten for free. I can't say that anymore though because I updated the brake calipers and rear derailleur, along with a '79 Schwinn Varsity stem because the original one was broken. Long story. I can also no longer say I have almost zero money invested in this. It rides okay enough for college, though.
My three bike share the duty of getting me to and from class every day

Not yet quite ready to go, but yesterday I received this lovely (to me) Schwinn Volare:
Apologies for the crappy picture. I unpacked it last night in the basement of a house we bought recently, but which is still undergoing pretty extensive rehab. The electrician isn't finished yet, so there was just a single, dim bulb for light.

The latest "Project"
Original Paint (with scratches) with new tyres, new cables set and a new tape.
Need a new chain, decided not to clean the old one.
A lot of cleaning, a bit of new grease and i can't wait to do a testride....

I put an old Chorus group that works great on my 1993 De Rosa Nuovo Classico. Looks a little boring but it rides nice and smooth.

Heh VR,
Looks perfect except for one major problem.
It doesn't live in St. Paul.
Let us know how you like the new tires when you get a chance.
