i have a older road bike frame i don't know what it is
the frame has a jp pj or ss on the seat stays on the end of the tubes by the seat post clamp it was painted by someone

Sounds like it might be a custom Jamaica Plain Pajama Single Speed model. Hard to be positive without pics though.

With that in mind, supplying good clear pictures and detailed descriptions helps a lot when seeking information related to a bicycle of interest. So, if the OP would supply pictures and detail, he, or she, might have a hope of getting reasonable answers.

It may be a Joppajass. A brand made in Finland. Check the bottom bracket to see if the thread diameter and pitch are Scandinavian. If it is a Joppajass, it may be worth a lot because there are so few of them around any more. Want to sell it? I may be interested.
