Battered Peugeot Bordeaux frame what to do with it?
 

I bought this Peugeot Bordeaux as a complete bike because I wanted the parts for another project thats working out well. Now I finally have the thing stripped down and I wonder if there is something interesting to do with it. I have read about people making wind chimes and thats almost interesting enough to build one, but I kinda hate wind chimes, but my wife would like some. Any thoughts would be welcome since I want to do something interesting with it.

A sidenote, this Peugeot frame feels like a boat anchor compared to the sport touring Cannondale aluminum frame I am putting most of the parts on.

what about using the rear triangle as a truing stand ? I've seen some photo's of that (on BF no doubt) and it seems like it would work pretty well. (assuming it's still straight)

the frame appears to be in good shape, why not just sell it on cl for 20-50?

make it a end table stand :) use glass to see it below. idk, only thing that came to my mind lol

Ya that frame is toast. Do you weld? You could make some kind of sculpture.

Remove the headset - Looks like it would make good Top of the Tree art for a local intersection that has cyclists going by...

What actually pretty funny is I had some other bike on CL and some guy ended up at my photobucket page and texted me asking about the Peugeot wanting to know if it was for sale because he was REALLY interested. I asked him if he had seen the significant damage to the frame (even though that was the point of taking the pics) and he said no. I found it pretty funny.

Keep the ideas coming. I haven't welded in years, but I also could probably get a friend to weld some stuff together for me at some point.

Rear triangles make nice stools.

Peugeot wind vane. It's creative sculpture time for the frame. Salvage the headset, possibly the fork, looks straight.

I was thinking that too. do I see shimano shifter backing plates? make sure you get those off.

PS also grab those thingies out of the dropouts. BTW the stool idea may be a moot point with the broken drop.

One of the shifter backing plates seems fused to the shifter boss/frame. If anyone has a good idea of how to get it off that would be great.

just stick a flat head between the frame and the spacer, always works for me

I tried that and even a knife but there just wasn't any room to get under there. Tonight after being encouraged to get that thing off from this thread, I finally just got it off using an old paring knife I got in a trash raid along with and AMF cruiser (plus a bunch of other stuff) a few weeks ago. I had to dig my way underneath the backing plate and after working my way almost all the way around the thing it finally eased off.
