Here is a project for the future - I've put it off because the frame is not my size. It is a 1975 Fuji Finest. It was a frame with a bunch of replacement parts that were just junk. Most of the little frame clamp-on were there however. This is the Fuji model I lusted for when I bought my first road bike back in 1971(72).

I usually agree, but I clicked on and got several banner ads that popped up. This rarely happens on my computer too due to ad blockers I have.

I went crazy over the Fuji "Special Road Racer" when I was a kid. It was dependable and built to last like a Chicago Schwinn, but was much lighter and enabled you to go faster and cover greater distances. The 1981 18-speed Fuji S-12-S that I have now is my fourth S-10-S/S-12-S. I have 27" x 1" Pasella TGs mounted on it right now.
Oh cool I have that same bike, Pretty sure mine's an '83, (I may have to re-check that) It had a lot of gold parts on it, gold chain, freewheel, even a gold blackburn rack . Mine doesn't say S-12S on the head tune though. Is yours 441 Chromoly? Nice looking ride.

I've just put a new cassette, seatpost, and wheelset on my previously fixed-and-upgraded '87 Fuji Sagres. The cassette was mainly for gearing, the new seatpost for a different offset, and the wheels just because they're better than what was on there (which weren't the originals, if you're curious). Come to think of it, the only original parts left on this bike are the frame, fork, handlebar, and stem. Everything else has been changed. I put Dura-Ace 7400 levers, derailleurs, and crankset on there, with a Velo Senso saddle (I got it on clearance, but I like it), Tektro dual-pivot brakes, Shimano A600 pedals, and brand new Shimano RS61 wheels, with DT Swiss "ratcheting" skewers. Now I just need some nice springtime weather to come back around...

WV is not flat..
I just picked up my first Fuji today. An 85 Del Rey that looks to be all original and in pretty decent shape. The price was right at 19.90 plus tax. I've heard a lot of great things about these bikes and I guess I will find out how it rides after I go through it.

Thanks. I love this bike! It is 441, and it does have quite a few gold parts. I may make a few changes to the accessories on it this spring. Even though the Pleitscher rack is period correct, I may use a modern black aluminum rear rack on it and try a black handlebar bag. Since these pictures were taken, I've installed a Brooks leather B-17 on it.

very cool. Mine was found curbside and the frame is near mint, barely a scratch. or did I say that already. It also has a gold plated blackburn rack which I think may have been factory, not sure.

Why is it the Fuji America Touring Series V is hardly ever seen around here? Tons of Series IV models, but the Series V is not seen so much. A shame as it is such a beautiful bike and not as utilitarian looking as the IV.

I was going through a bunch of papers and photos that my mother had given me when she moved to AZ and came across this:
The shop owned discounted the price a bit because it was a scratched floor model and this was my third bike from him (one stolen, then replaced). I added the safety levers, exchanged the tires, and added toe clips.
I know you guys are probably tired of me posting this pic, but this is basically how it looks today (tires have been replaced with Pasela TG)

Hi all. I'm new to this forum and I'm also new to having my very first Fuji. It's not a road bike though. I paid the original owner $150 for an all original (except saddle & tires) 1986 Fuji Sundance ATB. I've already posted about it in the vintage mountain bike forum, but I'm eager to share here too. I cleaned/repacked/replaced ball bearings of hubs, headset, bottom bracket, freewheels, replaced brake pads, all cables/housing. I took apart, cleaned every single component even the xc thumb shifters. I put on a Brooks B17 Special, however I won an auction for a Champion Flyer in Honey that I'll install. I also bought NOS MKS Graphite 2000 pedals as the ones on the bike were scuffed (I couldn't resist). I replaced the 26 x 1.75 tires with Paselas in 26 x 1.5 and the tan sidewall looks more vintage. I also installed a Jim Blackburn that I won on an auction site. I downloaded a page from the mombat.org vintage mtb site with instructions as to how to set up Cunningham/Suntour roller cam brakes and they turned out great! Oh, I wanted a higher quill with a shorter "stem" part, so I replaced original with Kalloy and it got those handlebars up there. So....here it is:

Running on plenty
Just finishing sourcing parts for this...pedals came in the mail last night (MKS Sylvan road with clips), and I've changed the saddle to a black suede Concor copy.
Brake cables being re-done this weekend, and a smaller freewheel, and then I'll be happier.
