first post, right here.

I was feeling nostalgic a few days ago after finding old pictures on a few hard drives of my fuji palisade that's been in storage for way too long. While in school in indiana, my friend's parents bought this bike for him from goodwill for $20. I suggested we take the gears off and make it a single speed, basically ruining it and causing him so much trouble that he eventually just gave the bike to me. It ended up in denmark after my first bike there was totaled and the second was stolen. The wheels were from another bike and with some surly part it was converted to a fixed gear. It was a fun bike for such a flat city, especially in the winter. I NEED that chopped brooks in my life, and it's so hard to find fenders like that around here. Can't wait to have it with me again, it's probably the only bike I've ridden that was just about tall enough...

Here is my 1979 Fuji Finest II, bought from someone over here, who originally got it from the US.

I've built it up with First generation Dura Ace. Wheels are first DA cassette. Handlebars are Nitto Olympiade and stem is Nitto Technomic. Seatpost is SR Laprade.

1988 Fuji Club. I think this one may have been one of the first ones made in Taiwan.

I had a Fuji Berkeley. But the seat stays cracked due to a small seat post. I parted out the bike. Im still keeping the frame and forks though in hopes of a fix and custom paint job in the future.

Anyway I went to the local bike store and they had a Fuji Newest for sale. The original owner bought it from that local shop new, but apparently the guy didn't use it much. They sold it to me for 100 bucks. And man does it ride smooth.

The tires are old, but the tread is perfect, no wear at all. This thing must have sat for decades as you can clearly see the dry rotted seat, and brake lever covers. But the metal is all good. All in all I think I got a good deal, that more than makes up for the Berkeley misfortune.

Incredibly score on that Newest! The earlier Newests show up quite a bit, the early 80's do occasionally but the 78's to 1980 do not. Fairly rare livery! Fuji gods rejoice.

What a deal! To find any vintage Fuji for 100$ is a steal. The Newest appears to be in excellent condition. I see a long reach valve stem on the back wheel so it has been cared for somewhat (unless you have changed it out). Nice bike!

Again I lucked upon the Newest after damaging the Berkeley that I updated for cardio training. But shortly after a night ride in the rain I realized that I could not tinker with the Newest and goof around with its stock configuration. So I listed it on on eBay and it sold within a day.

I graciously went right back to the bike shop that I bought it from and bought a brand new Trek One Series 1.1 with the money I got for the Fuji. So in the end the Fuji got a good home and I got the workout bike that I needed.

Nah, as long as the bike went to a home that can appreciate it and not bastardize it then I'm sure we're all good here about it.

1987 Fuji Team "funny bike." Rear wheel is 700C, front wheel is 650C. Tires are tubbies. Mostly original or NOS replacements. You can see it in the 1987 catalog on classicfuji.com. It's lots of fun.

Yes Karma. It's funny you mention that. My GOD actually controls Karma.....so it is not a random force. But as a Christian one that is said to be a precise working....personally tailored for us.

Anyway I told a story here which I will provide a link. The story is true but at the same time just as near unbelievable as what happened to me with this Fuji. But with what happened recently things have come full circle. And I know it is not coincidence.

84 Team Fuji. This is pre-overhaul, but it's a beautiful bike. I'd keep it if it fit, but it's a 52cm and me and my girlfriend are 5-10. I'll put up some pics when/if I decide to do a full overhaul or just part it out. My inner bike nut wants to overhaul it and bring it back to full glory, but my wallet wants me to part it out- everything original is still there except the front derailleur. Not a bad score for $50!

Loving all the amazing Fuji's! My first job was as a wrench at a Fuji dealer during the 80's. My first purchase there (and first new bike I ever bought) was an 85 Club (later sold). The nostalgia is catching up with me... Now I just need to score a vintage Fuji to call my very own.

I would die for an 83-85 Opus III (or a Professional, but I figure I'd have to be a part of the Vintage Fuji Secret Cabal for that!). I started looking a while back and right away spotted one in my size on CL, about 2 hours from me. It had been turned into a single speed (the horror!) and the original parts were gone. Even in the crappy CL photo I could see the shifter bosses were rusted. And he wanted $500! I figured another, better oppurtunity would come along. The Opus was gone from CL the next day, and that next oppurtunity hasn't happened. Whoops - should have gone to look at it! Oh well - I'm biding my time by tracking down some Superbe/SP parts for the next SS/fixie Opus that comes along.
