Masi
In a couple weeks I'll have this beauty in my hands. What model is it? The seller's educated guess is that it's the Prestige.
Relevant info:
Seller says he bought it in 1985 in W. Germany.
Seller says the date code is 809 suggesting it was made in September '80.
Seller says it's definitely not a 3V or a GC
Any ideas?

Italian Nuovo Prestige but the Pantographing on the fork crown is wrong.
Kind of confusing.
I'd definitely say Italian, no idea what the model is.

Looks to me like it could be a rather recent Gran Corsa, say mid to late 90's. Columbus Cromor. If that's what it is, it's not top of the line, but it is very nice!

I don't see any of your bike's appearance anywhere in the "Masi Bits" section under fork crowns and seat stays. I think your bike is relatively recent, perhaps 90's vintage. The small decal next to MASI on the down tube might yield some clues, but I can't read it.

The seller says it's probably a Prestige or Nuovo Strada. He doesn't remember. He says he bought it in 1985 in West Germany.
He says "definitely not a GC or 3V"

The "Masi" decal and pantographing font on the fork crown and seatstay caps looks newer than the stuff I saw in the 80's. So it could be a 90's Masi as noted.
My personal dream Masi would be an Italian built, early Volumetrica.

Looks like a Nuova Strada, built in Italy for the US market, so I am not sure about the seller's claim. Do you have higher resolution pictures? If original paint, the model name should be visible on the down tube.

The detail that suggests Vigorelli sold Masi is the small numerals above the cutout on the bottom bracket shell downtube socket.
Other than that, this bike has a really mixed set of details. It appears to have no lug cutouts, no M cutout in the bottom bracket shell, mixed up engraving... minimal fork rake, just very atypical.

It's something simple but the absent of a bottle cage mount on the seat tube I think would rule it from being made in the 90's? Even some 80's stuff had two cage mounts by then. My mystery Ciocc has two mounts but also has the holes for the Portacatena on the dropout which would push it into the early to mid 80's.

Tired of it already?
To get it's best price, there would need to be some confirmation as to what it is.
Two possibilities.
Jim Allen of Cyclesmiths in California
and or
Alberto Masi in Milan.
Of course, knowing what it truly is may limit its value too.

Value queries go in the values subforum,.
There's going to be a potentially significant difference in value depending on whether it's one of the models more closely associated with Alberto/Milan, i.e. GC or Prestige (higher value), and those associated with models subcontracted by Masi USA, i.e. Nuova Strada, Gran Corsa (lesser value). This has partly to do with the quality of the build, but also a great deal to do with collectibility, with the bikes whose design emanates from the original Masi operation taken over by Alberto generally being more valued and valuable.
I believe that's the gist of repechage's last post.
