Centurion LeMans 12 rebuild (lots of pics)
I recently rebuilt a Centurion LeMans and I thought I'd share the revived bike with you all. It's amazing what repacking the hubs and BB does to an old bike.
Threw a new chain and tires on it along with some brake pads. Wrapped the bars in black and ran some new cable. I took it for a spin yesterday and the ride was smooth and very sturdy. I was going about 35 downhill and the bike was solid as a rock.
The frame is a little small for me (although a longer stem would fix the problem) and I really don't need another bike (unless it's a high-end there's always an exception).
So for now it's up on my local CL. Part of me want's to keep it and throw some fenders on it to use as an around town rider.

The Lemans 12 is amazingly clean for its age. Too bad it's too small, especially if the 58cm Peugeot is your regular size.
A 130mm riser/comfort stem like a Profile, might provide enough space.

The 58 Peugeot was on the large side for me but it was perfect for around town cruising (its now owned by a friend of mines). I usually ride 54 -56, this LeMans 12 has a short TT though. But yes, a long stem would definitely work.

Looks good. Nice work. It's nice to have such a clean bike to start with.

SUCH nice bikes. I like all my bikes but my LeMans and I really bonded. And then it was stolen. So... hang on to this one, OK? For me?
