My new ride (and first road bike ever): 1983 Nishiki Cresta
After months of searching, I've finally bought a road bike in my size. Ended up selecting a 1983 Nishiki Cresta, a touring bike I believe. It's mostly original except for a few parts, namely the pedals/clips/straps, tires, seat and tape Everything else is completely original. Definitely is a little tricky to get used to, but after a few practice rides I'm getting used to the downtube shifters and I'm really starting to notice a speed difference between it and my old mountain bike-hybrid conversion!

Still trying to think of a name, so ideas would be appreciated. So far all I've got is The Brown Bomber, though I'm not too set on it yet. I'd like to pay homage to its Japanese origins with the name somehow.

Very nice bike. I don't usually name my bikes. But sometimes they just beg for one. I'm sure when the right name comes along, you will know.

New lock has already been ordered and is on the way as we speak. Luckily I live in a relatively low-crime area otherwise I'd be sweating bricks!
