OK, I think I'm sold. These bikes look great and I especially like the Molten Copper.
Here is the project. I have a 1991 Bridgestone RB-T coming in later today. The paint decals are much rougher than the bikes I normally pursue. However, I thought I'd build this one up as an "adventure bike" with CX tires. This may drive the BOB's crazy, but, oh well. Here is a nice example of a powder coated RB-T.

Please keep the bike photos coming.

I've seen several powder coated bikes and it seems to me that the solid color options produce a much more durable finish than the three stage coatings like the molten copper above. I'm not saying I wouldn't use that color again, but it would depend on what type of use the bike was to see.

Here is my Cilo project album. No knowledge of or attempt to recreate logos, decals, etc. Powder coating turned out really nice.

Damn, that's a stunner and hard to believe it's not paint. Are my eyes seeing things, or is the frame one color and the fork/fenders another?
I might have to rethink powdercoating when it comes time to refinish the Casati.
Every one of the re-dos on this page look great - crisp at the lugs, special sparkles, nice chrome-masking. Very nice, gentlemen!

This 1976 Marinoni is the only powder coated bicycle I have. Though beautiful, the powder coating has hidden some of the frame set detail. None the less, it is a really nice bike and will forever wear its orange powder suit...

On a separate note, I realized that I neglected to post a shot of the ca. 1985 Shogun 2000, which has also been powder coated and the lugs outlined. (I did not oversee the powder coating; Southpaw Boston did. I think the result is very pleasing.)
Early in the build:
In her finished state:
BTW, I toured extensively on this in June and the PC finish is remarkably durable. I did suffer one bit of damage to the surface of the front fork where a front rack rubbed for about six hundred miles before I noticed it was misaligned. That tour was almost entirely on gravel trail and the only chip that resulted was this rub mark. (Anyone have any ideas how to touch something like that up? It's pretty small.)

Not finished with the build as it's on the late winter/early spring docket, but here's a few pics of my Viscount Aerospace Pro after a two-stage powder of metallic silver base with a translucent blue on top. It really looks nice in the sunlight. Now, if only John D. Thompson will share the source of the head tube decal on his black Viscount....

there are some quality PCers out there (I want that "molten copper" for my Holdsworth!) and it would be nice to know the names/addresses of the PC shops that do outstanding work so they can be rewarded with more business.
There was one in Santa Ana, CA (if I remember right) that had done some very thin PC that preserved the Panto'd detail of somebody's frame...wish I still had the pics and the name.
I usually resort to PC for a fast'n'cheep finish and I usually get what I pay for.
