Photos of restored Brooks Campagnolo Saddle
Just got this in the mail today (after a long wait). Tony Colegrave made the top and had the correct stampers to reproduce a narrow rail Campagnolo Model B-17 Competition Standard on the original rails I sent him. Pretty damn cool!
There's a few more shots of it on my Flickr page (link in my sig below)

That seat is gorgeous! I've only recently heard about Tony, but I am very impressed with his work.

Yeah the original was pretty bad when I got it on a '59 Legnano. It had been over soaked in oil and had some dry-rot as well. I got to do about a dozen rides on it when the top broke right in half. I'll PM you on cost as it's a bit complicated.

I'd love to know cost as well, I have a Pro that's in kind of tough shape. I'm guessing it'll be cheaper to buy a new saddle though.

I think a Pro can be rebuilt by Brooks, as the tops should be available. Tony's deal is recreating tops that are no longer made, like in this case. Or when a certain logo stamping is needed for a correct restoration. But as you said a new Pro might be more economical?

Tony was very helpful and suggested that his charge, which starts at 125 pounds, was not worth the investment. He did say buying something like a new Team Professional made more sense than for him to restore one.

Just a quick FYI- I sent an e-mail to Brooks and they said to recover my Professional would be $98.00 U.S. including return shipping.
Not bad actually.

Otis, I dunno if you need them or not but since its such an oddball thing, I figured I'd mention, I do have two sets of NOS campy narrow rail seatpost hardware. I have been looking for that seat for quite a while, just missed one on ebay a month or two ago, slept on upping my high bid towards the end and got it sniped out from under me, I was so upset.
So if anyone has that saddle (or any narrow railed saddle) Id be interested! Or vice versa, I'd be willing to part with a set of my hardware.... maybe a pipe dream trade situation?!

Thank you for linking to your Flickr page.
The Brooks saddle is gorgeous, and there are so many other interesting shots.
None of my Brooks saddles are older than five years, so it is always interesting to see the forerunners.
At this point, my boys will be riding mine someday, as they are just starting out their useful lives.
The saddles I mean.

As for the Legnano, I would like to know what the serial number is please. I am trying to determine the vintage of my present Legnano, and make some sense out of the serial numbers offered. I am also trying to figure out when Legnano stopped using that lovely old headbadge.
