Maybe try writing Cannondale. They have been know to have a old stock of small parts for their bikes. You may get lucky. My front bag came with a set so I am guessing that all bags had them too.

My Cannondale bags all have stainless steel "S" hooks on the straps. That combined with an over abundance of shifter lever tightening screws I went with this approach:

I did try Cannondale- they got back to me in a timely manner and let me know they didn't have any.

Is there any place that sells replacement straps for the handle bar bag? Mine didn't come with them. I may just make a set though.

I just won this one on EBAY. I have a light blue(borrowed)one on the handlebars, similar to the one sykerocker was describing. This one will, of course, go on a different bike.

I have a Cannondale fanny pack that I bought back in the early 80's. It has nice leather and cordura construction for such a small bag. Loved using it very much back then for cycling and specially for XC and downhill skiing. Just the perfect size for a wallet, snadwiches change and ski wax.....Unfortunately, fanny packs have since been relegated for use by soccer moms, Grandmas and Grandpas on a vacation tour in Hawaiian shirts, Bermuda shorts and flip flops.....totally uncool now...
It's held up real well after so many years. I'll post a pic of it when I get home tonight....if I can find it....

I don't think the rear panniers are cannondale, but the handlebar bar and front panniers are. Back in the mid 70's I used to go to Stamford Conn. occasionally and the Original Cannondale Store & Factory had piles of bags & other camping gear at great prices.

Great picture! Tell us more about the bike. It's hard to tell, but is the crankset even a triple? If so the the granny looks fairly big!

Having ridden on the Blue Ridge Parkway last April, I can appreciate what you went through to get there. BF member DrRobWave and I were attempting to at least get to the access road from Little Switzerland, when the glue on my rear tubular decided to let loose and the tire slipped on the rim. The wedged valve stem deformed the tire and created a bulge which in turn threw the wheel out of balance.

This picture was taken at about 5400 ft (IIRC) so we still had another 1200-1300 feet of climbing to do, and decided the bum wheel was not worth the risk. I limped back to our hotel at under 10mph because I didn't want to roll the tire off the rim.

Regarding the bottom mounting point on the Cannondale rear bags: I've added a home-made bracket to each side on the rear fender mounting point by picking up a package of those small aluminum angle irons you can pick up at the local Lowe's or Home Depot. There's a large enough hole drilled on each end to handle both the mounting bolt and pannier hook. As the ends are squared off, you might want to touch the corners with a bench grinder to round them off. Could save you a scratched shin.

These have proven to be so useful that they go on as standard equipment on any of my sale bikes that are equipped with a rear rack. I've found the customers appreciate the effort, as they can just ride from the purchase point and stop at the local bike shop and pick up a pair of bags.

My bike is a 25", '78 Centurion LeMans. I replaced the crank with a Dura Ace with 39/52 rings. The freewheel was the original 6 speed 14-32. The rims I replaced with Weinmann Concave w/27 x 1 1/4 Tires. The loaded bike weighed 100 lbs. I rebuilt the bike in Cleveland after wearing out both chainrings and all six cogs down to nubs. If I can find them I'll post some pictures. I also did Mt. Washington that trip but on an unloaded bike.

Crankset ~ 52-39! Freewheel ~ 14-32!

Mount Washington with that gearing!

I'm seriously considering signing up for the newer Mount Washington climb, Newton's Revenge, this July. My wife, my riding buddy Glenn, and a staff member (who is planning with her husband to ride cross country on their tandem in May and June), all think I'm nuts.

I'm planning to pair a 22 or 24 tooth granny (42 tooth middle) with a 17-20-24-28 or 30-32-34 freewheel. I want to be able to gear really low when I hit the 20% grade near the top of the 7.6 mile climb.

At the moment I'm planning to do this on my '71 Paramount. I'll replace the blue Bridgestone bag with a red Cannondale bag, just for this thread! The big black saddle bag will stay at the base of the Auto Road!

Those C-dale panniers look great on your Lotus Omgar - NOS? What did you use for making your fenders?

Here's my partner's Cannondale saddlebag -- two small soft-sided panniers conjoined to hang across both sides of the rack. It came to the LBS tied to a department store MTB with two shoestrings. A good wash and a bit of stitching, it's back to work. B.O.B. would be proud:

It's got extra reflectors on the rear, just in case:

Can anybody tell me the model name of this bag?

Thanks HillCusser! They weren't NOS, but they were never used by the previous owner. The fenders I did not make. I got them from my LBS for $10. I think they come stock on some newer bikes. I've seen them before on some newer MASI's. Check your LBS, they might have some around.

I recently completed restoration on a 1975 Schwinn Sports Tourer. With a name like this it has to have bags. A couple of yellow vintage Cannondale bags were on hand. I think they provide just what I need.

Absolutely, SB, but this one is a Sports Tourer, so it has a standard BB. This was one of those bikes that basically found me. I wasn't looking for one! You can read a little more on my website and see the kind of condition it was in. 1975 Sports Tourer.

Haven't seen you around lately. If you've been away, welcome back. If I've just missed seeing your posts, my bad!
