Tire width on Wolber #58 ?
C&V'ers,
I am seeking to install wider tires on my Cannondale 1985 ST500. Dispite being a "touring" bike, the rear tire clearance (between the chainstays) is rather tight on one side (the wheel does not sit in the center of the chainstays - an issue with early Cannondales).
So, I am wondering if someone could tell me the actual measured width of Panaracer paselas (27x1 1/4 and/or 27x1 1/8) on Wolber #58 rims. I would also be interested in the measured, installed width of other 27" tires on this model rim.
Thanks for your help.

+1, with a Cannondale, the easiest solution is to re-dish the wheel to compensate for any misaligment in the stays or dropouts.

In my experience the Paselas run pretty true to size. A Model 58 is a ~23mm wide rim so I suspect the 1 1/4" and 1 1/8" Paselas will measure right around 32mm and 28mm respectively, perhaps a mm less than that.

Re-dish
I must admit that this did not occur to me. I have tensioned and checked the dish off the bike but not on. Will this result in brake issues as the wheel will be off center with respect to the brake bridge?

Just make a small adjustment of your brake calipers to center them based on the new rim position.
