This is what my parts bin puked up, still looking for a couple of finishing touches but I'm reasonably happy so far, and she rides like a joy. (I know you've all seen this bike in a few incarnations now, but this is by far my favorite to date)

I bet those fenders and chain guard produce a sweet rattle on those unpaved roads in those pictures. The rattle is one of my favorite sounds. Anyone can make a bike whisper quiet or do the carbonfiber tupperware sound but only Raleigh fenders ( ok maybe Hercules too) to produce that sweet sweet sound.

Cool incarnation and nice patina, by the way!

Actually I was able to reduce the rattle a lot! It's very hard to see in those pics, but I made some extensions for the front fender struts to extend them a bit, after all they were 26" fenders, the bike is for 27" wheels, the the wheelset is 700c with 38c tires on them... so it needed that and it turned out cool since you can hand adjust the alignment on the front. Barely visible in one of those pics, is a wood wedge I made for the rear end of the chain guard, removed the rattle from that pretty much completely by doing that.. I do still have the minor rattle sounds reminding me of 3 speeds, and the tinking sound of gravel I do adore inside of steel fenders. Oh and those aren't dirt "roads", that's my driveway, well a section of the unpaved part.
