Do you mean buy it in stock, like a 100'. Or do you mean coiled like flat coiled (new) or round coiled (old style).

i'm going to assume you mean old style cable housing. not the cable itself (which i guess one could call twisted.)

and i've found it at the LBS. also walmart or the like (and is often packaged with a usuable wire brake cable. i like it because it is more flexible, cheap and works just as well for me. oh, and i can cut it easily without a bike-specific-non-compressible-brake-housing-cutter.

did i mention cheap?

Dude Walmart?! I check Walmarts in Philly and they barely have anything useful in the bike Dept! =0( BTW its the old style cable housing, its clear housing with a clearly visible coil underneath. This is for a road bike.

If the cable is for your The James bicycle, there are no replacements available. Please carefully pack the bike and send it to me. I'll provide my addy in a PM.

No its for my Spezzotto. The James is in need of a BB rebuild, or maybe just a cleaning and repacking, and the drive side crank arm is bent ever so slightly toward the chainring. Besides that shes ready to ride!

So this stuff will fit my road bike right? I mean obviously the cable itself will not fit but I can go out and grab a set of road bike cables and it will fit in the housing no problem? Right?

Yes, The set is cut long enough to fit a road bike....and it exactly matches the clear covered coiled flat "spring" cable casing that's was also standard on my 1984 Peugeot PSV. It even has the same plastic inner sleeve to reduce cable friction. Don't let the "BMX" source bother you. Brake cable casing is brake cable casing. Pork chop includes ferrules and cable crimp ends of your anodized color choice, including plain silver. Not sure if the ferrules are the right size for your brake components, but there are other easy sources for those. the hard part is finding the clear casing which is like hen's teeth out there till some of us here discovered the "Pork Chop" source. Don't exactly remember how much it was for a set, but it was very reasonable, considering it's almost impossible to find this clear cable casing from the 80's out there.
