It's nice to see this one in color, for a change.

Once again, endless thanks to redneckwes for the scans of this catalog. I never know what he'll dig up next!

way cool, i was slightly suprised to not see a bike with 531 or some other higher quality tubes... was that reserved for the Carlton marque at this point?

Cool! Great to see.

Wow, who knew the Superbe was good for providing emergency lighting in a fallout shelter? I guess I need one of those now, too.

Thanks a lot for posting these, and for the Headbadge resource in general. Good stuff.

Nice! Thanks.

That blurb is surely a sign of the times, but... the dynohub is mounted on the front wheel. I don't see how the bike would be much use for lighting my butt in a thermonuclear war without extensive modification, a small velodrome or rollers.

The kids could take turns spinning the wheel? :innocent:

Love the comment about the Deluxe: "Most imitated in the world"....probably because all the imitations were also made by raleigh!

Kurt: your site is always interesting - thanks for keeping it fresh.

Kurt, thank you for all your efforts. I love browsing old catalogs, and learn quite a bit from them.

I've got some other fun stuff I need to talk Kurt into hosting, like a couple of Bottecchia catalogs.

cudak888 01-26-12 06:58 PM

Glad you fellows are enjoying them.
