Upgrade Vintage Bianchi or Trek?

I currently have plans and parts to upgrade my '90 Bianchi Cd'I to a 2x10.
I've got DA 130mm 7402 hubs which are designed to fit in 126mm spacing, R-700 sti shifters, 6600 Ultegra front D, 5700 105 brakes, cranks, and rear D. I love the Bianchi's style, columbus tubing, Celeste paint, and Italian-ness but I'm wondering if I should use the parts on my '92 Trek 1100 which is currently equipped with rsx 2x7, and 105 1050 series everything else and move it's parts to the Bianchi's currently bare frame. Both frames fit me well but the Trek is a little larger so I don't have to have the seat so high. I plan on doing some novice racing on the upgraded bike so that's another thing to consider. Both frames are in really good condition so neither would look out of place with the upgrades.
I'm leaning toward my original choise of the Bianchi but I want to make sure I get the most out of my upgrades. Your advise would be appreciated.

I don't understand something. are these the upgrade parts? or the parts currently on the Bianchi?

IIRC the Bianchi has a Italian BB so simply moving the cranks from the Trek to the Bianchi will require a new BB.

the Trek is alloy yes? you may have trouble stuffing the 10spd wheel into it. It is doable but dropouts may not like it and you can't cold set an alloy.

what type of racing? the trek may be better for "crit" racing while the Bianchi for longer races (not normally done in Amatuer races)

It is a tough call but I think you need to upgrade whichever bike fits and is more comfortabel for you.

I would upgrade the Bianchi for no other reason than I like Bianchis.

My 86 Cannondale has no problem accepting a 130mm hub. Maybe a tiny bit of a pain to take the wheel off but not really a big deal. IMO and YMMV of course.

Umm, I don't remember there being a Cd"I in 1990. Is that possibly a 1989 model which had the Quattro on it? I seem to recall you posting recently about one.

IMO, that frame looks too small for you, based on the post extension. I'd be going with the Trek.

There's no way the bianchi in its current state fits if the seatpost is that high, saddle is pointed down, and the stem is that short. What you need to do if you want to have any shot at being competitive in racing is get professionally fitted instead of worrying about upgrading parts on the bike. If the post is that high it means the frame is small for you and coule possibly work but you would need like a 110-130mm stem rather than the tiny one on there now.

+1 Put the time and effort into upgrading the bike that fits.
