World Champion Stripes

Anyone else done this? I'm thinking of making some to replace the black electrical tape on my bars that hold my bar tape on. I picked this up today.

I have seen more that a few guys putting similar colorful flourishes on their bars to finish off their wrap jobs.

(Mostly bottom-up guys do it, but that doesn't prevent you from wrapping in the other direction and still using such decorative devices if you like.)

I like it but..... is a Fuji allowed to carry World champion colors?

I realize you are not racing but USCF and UCI has super strict rules about such things. there was a time when some bar tapes came with the Rainbow stripes.

The UCI does, but only in a UCI sanctioned event.
The USCF, just gets mad if you were to show up in a WC jersey and you are not one.
As they approve club jerseys before they are worn, only unattached racers do silly things like that. I saw a cat. 4 guy (back when cat. 4 was the entry class) register to race with one that way almost a WC jersey in look, no black, and he was advised to wear something else, immediately. Of course, back then, everyone had to wear black shorts, and WHITE socks. I still think that should be part of the dress code. Sponsor lettering should be okay, but on a value field, no fufi color.

I don't know? But I won't be racing it. Just rising it locally here on the river trail and through town. Hopefully.no one stops me and issues me a fine!

If stopped by the authorities, cover them with your hands. Don't move your hands unless you receive a summons or citation. Then say, "Hey, look over there!", grab the paperwork, stuff it in your WC jersey & ride like hell!

I raced USCF back when the black shorts/white socks was the rule. I STILL think black shorts should be the rule - some of the current color schemes show-off too much of your junk, if you get what I mean.

Pelten shade tape came with the stripes. Perfect match for my ALAN, since there's probably not a company in the world that invests more time in boasting that they've won some granted, not in the road dept. but 5 on the track and 20 in the muddy field!

Not world champion stripes, I know, but I did add a blue pinstripe on my Park Pre. I think the world champion stripes would look awesome, but my only caution is that adding all those colors may end up with a pretty wide tape section, even after you overlap tapes.

Italian flag finishing tape comes with Ambrosio ribbon. I don't know for certain that is comes with ALL types of Ambrosio, but definately some. be sure to check before purchasing.

I recently bought 2 rolls of blaze orange at a swap for $2. Still don't know what to do with the actual ribbon.

May I ask where you ordered the tape from?

I rember the black short white sock days. I actually recall seeing a rider or two made to turn their jerseys inside out too!

I wish I could find some of that Ambrosio rainbow finishing tape.
