    Everest freewheel ID

I won this a few days back. Coming from Germany, so it'll be a while before I get to see it. Clearly says Everset in one of the pics so that's determined. But it sure looks like an alloy to me. Or is that just wishful thinking? Either way I think I've got a cool old freewheel at a good price. Anyone care to speculate?

Andy, it's steel - Everest's alloy versions are pretty shiny and are known as "Novas". But for under $25 with shipping, you can't go wrong with this one

Here's what my Nova looked like after I stripped the silver anodizing - the cogs were much shinier beforehand. Note the "Nova" stamping:

Just needs a good clean and you're off to the races!

That's pretty nice looking. Did you poke those holes!? Velo-base shows another that looks more like mine, hard to tell. Four notches rather than two, but the drilling looks simular... http://velobase.com/ViewComponent.as...ebd71&Enum=114

There you go - the "lega extra leggera" means alloy or lightweight ergal. And that's how shiny the cogs originally were.

Yeah, I did poke the holes myself - and only because I basically had to. It's a long story; see this thread if interested:
