Ergon GP1 grip question...
NE1 here ever fit a set on 23.7mm (15/16") diameter handle bar ends?
The Ergon site says that they fit "standard" 22.2 (.875") bars. No other size option except (small or large) outer dims from what I see.
Hoping to install a set on my ST is why I ask.
Will they stretch and clamp on 23.7mm's?

Well, I finally heard back from Ergon from yesterday's request.
Yes, as long as the bar is a flat or riser bar.

My Raleigh bike handlebar end diameters are .935" (23.75 mm).
Will your GP-1 grip fit and secure over them?
Thanks,
So we'll see!

Do they fit? Yes and no.
Prior to choosing this grip, I researched and read several advertised offerings from dealers selling same. The ONLY reference to size was either large or small versions, based on outside dimensions as applicable to hand size / grip circumstance. At this point I ordered a set of large.
The next day, while still wondering in the back of my mind as to fit (and despite of what the Ergon Customer Service rep stated) I Googled the Ergon web site. From there I was able to find a rather obscure reference to a link to a PDF grip manual. Further buried within the manual was a statement "Ergon GP1 grips require a handlebar with 22.2 mm diameter in the grip area".
I don't give up easily, so when they arrived, I "modified" the grips and put them on. I had to carefully slit the inner hard plastic sleeve along it's entire length to allow the grip ID to expand over the bar (just a heavy score, so not to cut through into the outer cover). Then wrestle the grip on, expanding / splitting the scored inner tube. The outer covering is a soft rubber composition that "gave" enough to stay intact and expand. The aluminum locking end ring (that secures the grip in place) was able to be cold bent to a larger diameter to fit over the protruding inner plastic sleeve (with some outer plastic material trimming and a couple of clearance cuts) to help catch the threads of the clamp's fastening screw.
They DO feel great and look good, so I'm glad I took the plunge!

I'm thinking of the GC2, glad it's working for you. It'll give me a safer alternate position than just gripping the ends with my palm and I won't have to mod. Could you post a picture showing how they look with the rest of the bike? I've wanted to see how these look on CV frames.

GC2's. Nice!
What diameter bars and on what bike?
I'll have to take another pic for you at a diff angle of mine, this weekend.

I'm pretty sure you have the clamps on upside down. The bolts should be on top and it might have better fit between the clamp and grip and not such a big gap. I have a set on my mountain bike and my wife has a set of the natural cork colored versions on her Breezer Uptown Infinity. They also look like the grip shift models as they appear a bit shorter then the standard models. These things sure are comfy though!

I think you are correct! Thanks.
I need to flip em'. The gap won't go away though, as I had to expand the clamp to fit the larger bars.

Cool! Clean ride w/ a single DT shifter but two DR's. I'm missin' something, huh.
I see that you are sporting a Bellini too!
What's with TWO tie wrapped front forks? I can understand one side for the computer transmitter, but the other?
Is that a Brooks single rail "Flyer" saddle? It looks like mine from the front, but I can't see if it has the springs out back.

Yeah. It's more of a subdued "ping" than a real "ding". You certainly won't startle anybody w/it in the big city, huh!

I turned the grip end clamps right side up too, Henry III.
Even lessened the "gap" some, that I had.

I've been using Ergons on my MTB for about 2 years now. Not EVER going back to standard grips. The support and comfort they provide is unparalleled.

Thanks for the extra visuals! This is all very encouraging. Ahh, here we go again: form over function or function over form... Must compromise.
